You know The Bold Type is the perfect example that shippers of non canon wlw relationships aren’t just misconstruing regular friendship interactions as romantic.
Like they gave us 3 awesome badass women and not once was anyone in the fandom inclined the ship any of them together because they were written so well, with amazing chemistry but it doesn’t go overboard (eg. Rizzles, Supercorp). We’re not just seeing two women on screen and go “I ship it!” There has to be a potential for a lot more. Sutton, Jane and Kat are the ideal way friends should be written (of course not exactly the same because every person’s friendship is different) if you want us to believe two characters are friends and nothing more. We’re not pulling chemistry out of our ass. This is why wlw were picking up on the romantic potential/chemistry for korrasami before most could.
Writers for these kind of shows are just terrible at portraying friendships.
Seeing a picture of Zooey Deschanel without bangs or glasses made me accept that maybe Lena *really* couldn’t figure out that Kara was Supergirl
